  Thursday 15th of April 2021 and we left the cars next to the gravel road and we walked up the forest towards the hide. Took around 30 minutes to walk to the hide and I was very happy when finally the Guide pointed out the camouflage tent. My Guide leave and I put my things in the tent. It was warm so I took off my pullovers and I sit down to relax in the tent.  Finally at the tent

There is a chair, one of the chairs you buy at any gas stop for 2 $ with cup holders in the arm rest. One pointless 5 $ folded bed that are 15 cm high so pretty pointless, can as well sleep on a mattress on the floor as there is no difference in height. I had been sitting on the bed for a minute and I stand up to discover that the bed had capsized and sunk and I threw it out of the tent.  Bed was thrown out of the tent
It was warm and I was comfortable in my pullover. I had 1 more winter pullover + one shirt and a wind breaker. Suddenly with a BANG! It went from warm to freezing cold and I brought on all my  clothes + winter gloves, got in to the sleeping bag and put 4 blankets on top of everything and it did not help much.
It was cold and it got worse by the minute and it was very hard to get any sleep. +++++++++++++++
Thursday 15th of April 2021 and it was a very cold night. But I was sleeping when my alarm went off at 4 o'clock, silent alarm, just vibrating in order to not scare the birds.
At 5 o'clock there was one Capercaillie making a terrible ruckus started. I looked out and there was one Capercaillie Cock on top of the lek hill 10 meters from the tent. I was moving very slowly in the tent trying not to scare the bird. The Capercaillie Cock was alone looking for someone to fight with. I could hear the bird taking off before I got any pictures and the bird landed in the forest left side of the tent. I could hear the bird but I could not see the bird and he was making a ruckus down there looking for someone to fight with.  Gorgeous weather when walking back to the car

I was very thirsty reaching the car and I had a soda water first thing before driving back to the cottage. I passed Rörbosjön and I had to make a U-turn when I pass a tree along the road looking like an apple tree full of red fruits. Of course it was red Chaffinches sitting in the tree. I drove back and I made another U-turn coming back and I stopped at the tree. The birds took off and there were plenty Chaffinches, the most I have seen this year. Started with a couple of them coming here a few days ago. Now they are hundreds in the groups. I spent the afternoon in my cottage and I left just before 4 in the afternoon in order to be at the parking for the Capercaillie Lek in a good time. Driving by Skillberg I see an owl on top of a dead trunk in the clear-felled along the road. I stopped and the owl was just sitting there.   Ural Owl / Slaguggla

I park the car at the parking next to the gravel road and I start to walk towards the hide. My Guide should pick up 2 more guests at 17:00 in Skultuna so I was surprised to meet him when he just left the hides. But the other two guests had been early. I installed myself in the tent / hide and I had brought an extra blanket and a quilt so it will be much to carry back tomorrow when I have to bring back everything plus my pillows. Same as yesterday, warm and comfy until suddenly, freezing cold. But the extra blanket and quilt was very good and I was not freezing and I did not have to use my wind breaker.  Warm and cosy

So it was actually very nice in the tent and I slept until my silent alarm went off at 4 o'clock. +++++++++++++++
Friday 16th of April 2021 and it was quiet outside when my alarm went off. An hour or so later I could hear a quick sound and wing flaps from one Capercaillie. But I never spotted any birds. I waited until 10 o'clock when I decided to leave and our Guide came to pick us up at the same time.
The other two guests were from Skåne and they recommended a place in Linköping where there were Slavonian Grebes. So I decided to drive there going back south. And click HERE to find out if I have any luck with the Slavonian Grebes
