  Friday 14th of August 2026 and I wake up at 4 o'clock in the morning. I have a cup of tea watching how the day turns from pitch black to daylight. At 6 o'clock there is enough light for me to see four deer outside my rented cottage. I opened the door, scared to flush the deer. But they just stood there while I had a picture. August, so it is too early for apples, but I wish I had apples to give them. September and here will be plenty apples. Deer loves apples and tulips, tulips in the spring and apples in the autumn.  A gorgeous morning, deer running around while my pork collar is on the grill. A cup of tea, cannot  wish for a better start of the day.
Rain or sunshine, BBQ for breakfast everyday until I leave again. Breakfast and dinner, healthy living and a V-shaped torso. Finished with the breakfast and I enjoyed the forest for a while before going to do the dishes.  Healthy breakfast is coming up

Picking up my wagyu beef today, but first a little bit of bird watching and I will pass eBird hotspot: Rosendals våtmark on my way to Hasslarps Dammar. Leaving the cottage and I am soon stopping to report one Red Kite to eBird. Rosendals våtmark was a wee bit of a disappointment, not many birds to be seen. Stopping at Väla shopping center but they have not opened yet, opens at 10 o'clock and I drive to Hasslarps Dammar.  Walking to the bird hide at Hasslarps Dammar
I see one bird watcher and I stop to ask if he had seen anything exciting. He had spotted one White-tailed Eagle, otherwise the usual birds. Parking the car and I walked to the bird hide and of course, I was  hoping to see the White-tailed Eagle. I saw the eagle last time I was here.
Taking the seat in the bird hide and it is mostly Mallards and Eurasian Coots. Two Grey Herons and two Great White Egrets. Two European Goldfinches landed in a thistle bush next to the hide and I got a few pictures. Getting a record of one Western Yellow Wagtail before I left the bird hide.  Mallard

 Leaving Hasslarps Dammar and making a stop at Väla Shopping Center to buy some trousers before going to Rydebäck to pick up my wagyu beef. I bought a new wind braker for my scooter, a fleeze jacket and I ordered 10 pair of trousers that I will pick up on Tuesday. Picking up my nephew on the way to Billströms Fisk och Köttbutik. I am getting hungry and I had another peice of the salmon sandwich layer cake. Surprised, my nephew was not hungry so I had to eat alone while he was watching. The food was good, but way too much and I could not finish all the food.  Lunch time
 Leaving Billströms Fisk och Köttbutik and I dropped my nephew before continuing to my rented cottage. I will prepare salad and stuff before we start the BBQ at 6 o'clock. Firing up the grill when they arrived and I was waiting for the potato to boil, the pot has been on the ducking kitchen range for more than one hour. Pre boiled potatoes, or as we call it “BURK POTATIS” or the “BEST POTATOES” But I want to have hot potatoes, the water never started to boil, but it was hot enough. The wagyu beef, now I understand why it is so expensive. I have had Kobe Steak in Tokyo, 7 or 800 US $ for a small piece. You could eat the steak with a spoon. The wagyu beef, it was like sticking the fork in whipped cream and the meat melted in the mouth, very good. It was worth the 300 US $ for the meat.  Wagyu ready for the BBQ

Saturday 15th of May 2026 and I wake up just after 4 o'clock. enjoying a cup of tea before I go out to start up the BBQ at 5 thirty. There is one deer walking outside the cottage and I said hello. Nice to see the deer walking around while making breakfast.

Recording the first bird at 06:16, a Common Chaffinch. I used my Merlin app to record the birds and the app ID the birds for me. My eBird app is running and I enjoy the morning. The birds are hiding in the foliage and I cannot see them, but the Merlin app give me good ID from the sound. I manage to get recordings of five different birds before I stop my eBird checklist in the app. Listen to the Common Chaffinch

11 o'clock and the sun is shining and there are suddenly plenty birds around the cottage. I decided to go to buy some bird food to see if I can get them to come close to eat. The birds are flying around and it is not easy to get them on pictures. Back at the cottage and I spread the bird seeds. Of course, by now it was over cast and no birds in sight. Well, no birds today, will take some time for the birds to discover the food. But I am pretty excited for tomorrow.

Sunday 16th of August 2026 and I was preparing the BBQ around 5 thirty. I become one with the nature and I have 6 deer coming up to me. I did not see them until they discovered me and they ran away. They came very close before they discovered me at the grill.
A dog joined me for breakfast and the nose was working at 100%. I threw a few sausages the first evening and the dog was sniffing around in the grass.  A dog is joining me and it is on a treasure hunt
The dog was on a treasure hunt while I was enjoying the BBQ, and I think the dog found all the sausages that I threw out in the wilderness on the first evening. Gloom and grey for long as I can see. Windy and it is a bit chilly. No bird activities, my bird seeds investment seems to have been a waste of money. Leaving my brother’s house, there is a small green area across the street and I see something red in the vegetation. I discover that it is apples that have felt of an apple tree. I ask my brother for a bag and I take some of the apples to bring to my rented cottage.  Apples for the deer

Getting hungry, and Kalle på Spången open at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. It is Sunday and Kalle på Spången is serving Smörgåsbord. I decide to go to try the Smörgåsbord. Arriving to Kalle på Spången and there are many people waiting to have their lunch. They open the door after a few minutes and I am the first to enter the restaurant. They only have small cups, so I make 3 cups of tea before I go to get food. I start with meatballs. I am already full after the meatballs, but I want to get a plate of roast beef and remoulade. Apple pie and vanilla sauce and I was full to the extent that I felt very bad when I left. So, back to my bed in the rented cottage where I spent the rest of the day. The cold is coming down hard on me and I could not find any energy to get out of bed. +++++++++++++++
Monday 17th of August 2026 and it was raining when I went for my tea at 4 o'clock in the morning. So, it was not until 7 o'clock when I went to fire up the BBQ.
I was surprised, there were some bird action at my bird seeds, maybe my investment will pay off. But the deer had not touched my apples, but I hope that they will discover them. Actually, today was the first morning without deer, so maybe my apples have scared them away.  Eurasian Nuthatch

Time approaching lunch time and I go to prepare the BBQ. There is a lot of birds flying in and out to the bird seeds. I got my tea and the BBQ falukorv and I started my eBird app. Refilling the food areas and there was plenty fresh food. I also put some food on the rail around the wood platform and the birds came to feed very close to me. Quality time while having my lunch.  Lunch on the grill

Visiting my brother and we decided to have some cake. They will come to the cottage in the evening and I was going to buy a cake on my way to the rented cottage. Stopping at Hyllinge Super Center and I found a cake and some other not so very good stuff. I did not feel very good when my brother and his family left. Eating way too much cake and  pastries and on top of the pain from eating too much there was the agony.
And to make thing worse, I found the new bakery and I ordered one Semmeltårta and I will pick up the cake on Wednesday.  PrinsessTårta

Tuesday 18th of August 2026 and the apples were gone this morning. Looking out the window around 5 thirty when the day light broke, the apples were gone.
Ungratefull deer, eating the apples when I am in bed. Taking off to my brother and I picked up the last apples that I will bring back to my rented cottage. And now I hope I get to see the deer coming to eat.

Back at the rented cottage and I fire up the BBQ for my lunch/ dinner. The Red Devil (ปีศาจแดง ก.กุมานนท์) send me a LINE message, Snipper Aladdin Gym (สไนเปอร์ อะลาดินยิม) is having a fight at Rajadamnern Muay Thai Stadium tonight. Enjoying my BBQ lunch/ dinner with my eBird app running. There are a lot of traffic to my bird seeds a couple of meters away from my seat. I manage to get a recording of one of the Marsh Tits before I am ready with my food. And I got a video from The Red Devil (ปีศาจแดง ก.กุมานนท์) and Snipper Aladdin Gym (สไนเปอร์ อะลาดินยิม) won his fight.  Team Aladdin Gym

Wednesday 19th of August 2026 and I was out at 5 thirty to put out the apples for the deer. Now I hope I get to see them eating. The last of my bird seeds went out at the feeding area before I fired up the BBQ.

It started to pour down, gloom and grey for long as I could see. I decided to drive to Malmö to buy some e-juice at eSmokes. Bought 10 bottles when I arrived to Sweden last week and I liked the juice. So, I need more and I will buy another 10 bottles. Stopping in Glumslöv to buy petrol and they sell soft ice cream and I went in to the shop. Asking  for the biggest ice cream serving and I paid for the ice cream.
Drolling with anticipation while waiting for my ice cream. But what is going on? The soft ice cream machine is not working and they gave it three tries before they gave up. What a disappointment this turned out to be. OK, it was good for my diet, but I really wanted an ice cream. Walking back to the car and I was soon heading towards south and eSmokes in Malmö.  Reaching eSmokes and I got 11 bottles, paid for 10 and I took my seat in the sofa. I started to  mix the e-juice. Took me 20 to 30 minutes to mix everything and I was soon heading north again.
Driving south and I stopped at the service station at Glumslöv. There is one service station on each side of the highway, and my plan is to stop at the service station in the north bound lane to have an ice cream. Stopping at Glumslöv and I go in to ask if their ice cream machine is working. They tell me that it is working and I think “DARN” There goes my diet.  Soft Ice Cream
Finish my ice cream in the car before leaving the service station. Next stop is the bakery to pick up my semla. I paid it yesterday so it was just to pick up. My brother will come over in the evening and we will see if it is any good. Tomorrow will be my last day in Sweden and I started to pack my luggage. I had bought sausages before picking up the semla and I packed the sausages and cheese together with my new trousers.  Semla

Thursday 20th of May 2026 and starting the day with my last BBQ breakfast. There will be no time for BBQ tomorrow, so I can't miss this oppertunity for BBQ breakfats.
For sure, I will miss my BBQ breakfasts leaving the cottage. The birds have finished almost all the food I have provided. They are now coming to the door to the platform to look for me. Even coming inside the house to look for me to hand out food for them.  Last BBQ breakfast

It is late afternoon when I drive back to my rented cottage. Almost back, driving along a narrow dirt track and I spot two Red Kites sitting in a tree. Trying to take some pictures, and I have to move out in the terrain a couple of time due to  traffic. Typical, no cars driving along the dirt road. As soon as I stop to take a picture the darn thing turns in to Autobahn.
I am soon discovering that there is four Red Kites, too far away for any good pictures, but I try my best. Trying to get in to a better position putting the car in reverse. The kites were flushed from the first tree and I discovered them in another tree behind, and this is where I discovered that there was four Red Kites.  Red Kite

Continuing and I turn left instead of right to the cottage. There is a farm on the left-hand side and a huge field after having passed the farm. If I am lucky, I can see the kites from there. Open field and I hope to see the tree line, but it will be very far away. The farmer was working on the field, driving up and down with a tractor. And there were gulls, must have been hundreds of them. There were several Red Kites, but I could not report them as it might have been the same as I saw in the trees before. Trying to get a few photos before driving back to my rented cottage to spend my last night in the cottage. I will leave for the airport tomorrow morning.  Common Gull

Packing my sausages, cheese and chocolate in my bags and I have to repack. The luggage was very  heavy and I had to move around some of the cheese and sausages.
The cottage is cleaned and it is only to mop the floor and to clean the  bathroom tomorrow morning before I leave for the airport. Most of the job is done when I go to bed and I have plenty time for tea tomorrow morning.
Returning the car to Hertz in Malmö at 9 thirty and my plan is to leave around 7 thirty driving slowly towards south. You just need to click HERE to find out if I make it in time to Copenhagen International Airport.  Suitcase with sausages
