Monday 24th of September 2012 and we landed in Bangkok quarter to 3 or something like that, almost 1 hour late because of the missing passengers in Hong Kong. And I was back home around 3 thirty. I dropped the chocolate for the girls in the office first thing. The Manager called the contractor and he will come to have a look at my laundry room tomorrow.
I went up to my condo and all my potted plants were on the balcony and they didn't look good. So I will have to get to Karaket Garden on Ekamai tomorrow morning to buy new plants. So no sleeping tomorrow morning, I will put my alarm to go off at 8 o'clock.
I left for Sophia Muay Thai Gym and I could hear my Teacher and the American girl already when I passed through Srinakharinwirot University. It was nice to meet my Teacher and the American girl again and I set up my new training times, 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Monday to Friday.
I told him that I would try to come tomorrow, depending on the Contractor. If he is in time I will be at Sophia Muay Thai Gym at 3 o'clock.

I spent an hour chatting with the Teacher and the America girl before I walked back home for a shower. I wanted to be at Bangkok Fight Club at 7 to see if there was anyone I know. I will make the decision on if I want to go 3 or 5 day per week depending on if there is any one I knew. I was surprised, I had expected our Thai friend to be there but no sign of him. And I didn't know anyone at Bangkok Fight Club. Well, I will go there tomorrow if I have the time.
I got our Thai friend's number from my Teacher and I will call him to see if he has any intentions to continue at Bangkok Fight Club. But the good thing was that there was a big guy there and it might be fun to do some sparring with him.
My Teacher had lost a tooth and he asked for some snus to put where the missed tooth should have been.
- Are you serious?
- Yes, snus is good
I gave him some snus and it didn't take long before he had to dash off to the bathroom. And of course, when I left the sky opened up and the rain poured down and I was soaked when I found a taxi. Emporium and I bought the washing machine and a vacuum cleaner.
The washing machine was 20,000 Baht less than when I left for Maersk Claudia so I was lucky that they didn't finished my laundry room last time. So I could spend 12,600 Baht on a vacuum cleaner.
And yes, they have vacuum cleaners for 2 or 3000 Baht, made in China and the choice was obvious when I could buy a “made in Germany”. The German vacuum cleaner was more expensive, but now I know that the workers get paid and that they have a holiday once a year. And of course, the weekends off, and if they by any chance have to work more than 8 hours per day they get compensation.
I only wish that all consumers were thinking like this. Easy to scream high complaining about your own salary but no one wants to spend any money so other workers can have a decent salary. And for sure, they have to follow regulations when making the vacuum cleaner in Germany. It is not just to dump the toxic in the back yard killing all the rivers.
And if all Japanese, European and American companies would have kept their factories at home Chine would not have been able to afford making trouble with Japan, Vietnam and Philippines about islands around the South China Sea
And the washing machine is “made in Korea” where the workers get paid. I paid for my stuff and I left for Little Italy for a pizza before I continued to TOPS to buy onion and milk. From now on it is only “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® with tea. And of course, flaxseeds and sesame seeds.
Tuesday 25nd of September 2012 and my holiday is over. 3 days of holiday in Hong Kong and now I'm back to my daily routines. I went to Ekamai to buy my plants and I stopped at Tohkai for some salmon sushi on my way home.
I had plenty time before it was time to go to Sophia Muay Thai Gym and the Contractor should come at 2 o'clock. Of course, he was a no show but the Manager at the condo had already called a back up Contractor so now we have to see when he is showing up.
The rain was pouring down and I was in a bad mood, I really want to go for a session at Sophia Muay Thai Gym. I could not believe my luck, the rain stopped just when I was about to leave.
But I was soon to discover that the Soi was flooded and if I wanted to go to Sophia I would have to swim. But I decided to give it a try. When the cars passed the swell covered the side walk and my shoes were soon soaked.
My Soi is flooded
My Soi is flooded
I reached the place where my old “local” 7 Eleven used to be. But here it was impossible to cross the road and I walked back home. Well, I continued to my local 7 Eleven and I bought 2 big bottles of Diet MAX
I enjoyed a glass of Diet MAX and I looked out my window after 30 minutes, the water on the street was slowly disappearing and if I'm lucky I can go to Sophia Muay Thai Gym today.
I decided to leave around 5 o'clock and the street was dry at some places, but when I came to Srinakharinwirot University there was 10 to 20 cm of water on the street and I was soaked when I arrived to Sophia.
The American girl was at the end of her session when I arrived. I was soon in the ring, I never bothered to change my shoes, and I entered the ring with socks.
The American girl was at her last round and I took over. I told my Teacher that I only wanted to do 30 minutes today and tomorrow to avoid soar muscles after 3 months without any exercise onboard M/T Maersk Claudia.
I finished my session with some light kicking to get my legs used to the exercise again. We finished the session and I stayed behind chatting with my teacher for half an hour.
Turned out that he has a friend running a company doing bathrooms and stuff so he will call him regarding my laundry room. So if the other people don't show up I can hopefully use their service. The owner of Sophia Muay Thai Gym had used their service around his swimming pool and it looked good. So I was in a good mood when I walked back home.
My Teacher and the American girl at Sophia Muay Thai Gym
I called our Thai friend from Bangkok Fight Club to ask him if he was going tomorrow. He told me that he was going tomorrow night so I will try to make it there tomorrow. All depending on the AC guy and Contractors. But I think I will go for my Teacher's friend.
I was back home from Sophia Muay Thai Gym around 7 and I had a shower before I left for World Trade Center. I'm looking for a new cupboard for my bathroom o I can store some of my stuff. Well, it was hard to find a cupboard or a set of drawer that I liked. I found one, but it was a wee bit too big for my bathroom.
But I found a new chair for my computer desk and I had given up on the set of drawers and I left World Trade Center. I was on the escalator going down when I passed a cupboard. It looked like it was a part of the decoration at Zen. But I decided to check it out and I took the escalator back up. It was for sale and I got 20% off with my “The 1 Card - Expatriate Card”
20% discount and I saved over 3000 Baht. They could not deliver the cupboard until tomorrow so I brought it home in a taxi so I could start use the cupboard immediately. And of course, I don't have to sit home tomorrow waiting for them to deliver.
Wednesday 26nd of September 2012 and they came to deliver my new plants at 10 o'clock. Amazing this Karaket Garden on Ekamai, always in time. Never fails, I wish it was the same with all companies in Bangkok, sitting home waiting like a twat.
The staff from Karaket left around 11 and I had a few hours to kill before it was time to leave for Sophia Muay Thai Gym. But I was glad to have my new plants.

The AC guy from Pattaya called me around 2 o'clock and we decided to meet in my condo at 4 o'clock when I was back home from Sophia.
- What the ? You are using people from Pattaya.
- Yes, this guy was excellent when they installed my AC 11 years ago.
But I would not have any other company from Pattaya to do any work in my condo. I had a session at Sophia Muay Thai Gym at 3 o'clock. My Teacher and the owner were exercising when I arrived. I had a short session because i needed to be home by 4 when the AC guy from Pattaya arrived.
They called a Contractor for me before I left, a guy that used to do work for the owner of Sophia Muay Thai Gym. So my Teacher and the Contractor will come home to me tomorrow morning to have a look at the job to be done.
And it will hopefully soon be ready so I can install my new LG WD-1332RDS washer and dryer combination that I bought at Power Mall at Emporium. I wanted to buy the SAMSUNG WD1162XVM washing machine, but it is too big for the door to my laundry room. But the LG WD-1332RDS washer and dryer combination should be good. I have read several reviews about LG washer/ dryer combos and most of them are satisfied.
And the air condition guy told me that they need 2 to 3 days to install the new air conditioners. And if he say 2 to 3 days it will be 2 to 3 days. ARC in Pattaya was the first company (and the only foreign own) company that impressed me in Thailand.
I went to Bangkok Fight Club in the evening and I ran in to my former class mates from the Thai language school at Srinakharinwirot University and I came to Bangkok Fight Club at 7. Our Thai friend was there and this was the only guy I recognized, the rest of them (mostly kids) were new students. I left and I walked back home again. I haven't done any sparring for a long time and I miss the old students when we did sparring every day.
How fun is it to spar with a 12 years old, girl? Not very fun, for sure.
Thursday 27th of September 2012 and my Teacher and the Contractor knocked on my door at 9 o'clock. Impressive, well, if you are impressed by people showing up in time you know what country you live in.
But my Teacher always shows up in time, well, anyway, he had the guy to do the work in my laundry room with him and he was soon starting to take measurements.
I showed him the measurements of my new washing machine so there will be enough space, not like the twats that did it last time. They managed to foock up even though they had the washing machine right next to them. But this time I hope that they will manage to make enough space for the washing machine. Of course, after the last fiasco I learned that I will have to be present to supervise and to give pointers whenever needed.
They will start the job on Monday and I will have to empty my laundry room on Sunday to prepare everything for the job to start. My Teacher will come on Sunday with a pick-up truck to remove my old dryer and washing machine.
I left to check out Chakrit Muay Thai School on Soi 39. I talked with my Teacher and they open at 8 o'clock in the morning so I decided to come back tomorrow morning. Well, at least before lunch and then I will have my sessions at Sophia in the afternoon.
I will be ready at Sophia around 4 in the afternoon and then I have my evenings free. And that's even though I do Thai boxing twice a day. And I think I will skip Bangkok Fight Club. They should have 2 classes at Bangkok Fight Club, 20 years old and above and 1 class for below 20 years old.
Well, I walked back home from Chakrit and my Teacher at Sophia called. He had had an accident with his leg so we cancelled today's session. So I took a taxi to Pantip Plaza to buy some “HANGOVER DVDs”
And of course, when I was about to leave the sky opened up and the rain started to pour down. Yes. it is the rainy season and it is dangerous to leave home. I ended up at the S&P restaurant at Pantip and I ordered Chicken curry with rice. And as there were no sign of the rain to stop I asked for sausages and spaghetti as well. Yes, a bad day for my diet, cancelled boxing session and now I'm stuck in an S&P restaurant due to rain.
Well, it could have been worse, a few years back and I could end up stuck in a bar for several weeks due to rain. The rain stopped when I finished my spaghetti and I walked up the Petchaburi Road towards Payathai Road where I turned left towards Siam Discovery.
I walked back home and when I came to Time Square I crossed Sukhumvit via the BTS Sky Train Station and I ended up at Terminal 21. And suddenly I found myself in the basement and in the queue in front of Dairy Queen.
OK, I had planned for a ice cream at Dairy Queen long before I reached Terminal 21. Not my first time at Dairy Queen at Terminal 21.
Dairy Queen has some good tasting ice cream and I prefer Dairy Queen instead of Basking Robinso and Hagen Däas or whatever they are called. There is one more ice cream place in Bangkok I use to shop at when I have a hangover. They have those JUMBO size cups, the only thing I don't like with Dairy Queen is the sizes of their cups. Their biggest cups are, well, hmm, small.
Friday 28th of September 2012 and now I have lost track on how many times I have missed my Thai boxing because of rain. I was about to leave for Chakrit at 11 but it was raining, still hope I can make it to Sophia at 3 and then maybe I can go to Chakrit in the evening, weather permitted. I was in my kitchen when the house phone went off. Luckily enough, I only have one house phone direct to the security guard and the condo office. So I would never have heard the phone if I would have been in my bed room.
- เก้าอี้ (gaoee)
- I'm not hungry
Yes, I have been away for 3 months, so it took me a second to realise that เก้าอี้ (gaoee) means chair. I bought a chair the other day and they would deliver today. So if it wasn't for the rain I would have been at Chakrit and then I would have missed my chair.
Mt Teacher from Sophia Muay Thai Gym called and he is still not well so we cancelled today's session. So I left for Chakrit Muay Thai Gym instead and I was lucky, no rain and I plunged down Sukhumvit listening to Swedish Hip Hop. There waqs one foreigner at Chakrit when I arrived, the rest of the guys were from Thailand, 2 couples and 1 more girl arrived after a while.
I paid the 6000 Baht fee and I registered before I changed my shoes. And we did 10 rounds, my Teacher said it was 11. But I was pounding his mitts with my left arm. I never used my right arm due to my shoulder.
The girl that shocked me with her age last time arrived in her Benzo when we had done a few rounds. She is 50 and I thought she was 30 and what I thought was her boy friend was her son.
- You are back! She said
I asked her if she had seen the pictures I took of her last time. She had not seen them and she told me that she had been looking for them.
- Did you visit Chakrit Muay Thai School's Face book? I asked.
She had one of those giant mobile phones and I asked her to check out the Facebook. She got connected but she was on the owner's Facebook and I told her to go to Chakrit Muay Thai School's Facebook. So now she will be able to see her pictures, I put 25 pictures or something like that of her and her son.
She asked me for the pictures and she was disappointed with the “Foreigner” that had promised to post her pictures. But now she was happy again.
I walked back home and I took a taxi to Siam Square after my shower and my “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ®. I walked from Siam Square to MBK Center and then back home. I stepped in to my elevator at 10 o'clock in the evening. One of my neighbours held the elevator open for me. I didn't recognised him, but he was obviously recognizing me.
- You still do the boxing?
- Every day and tomorrow morning as well.
- Very good
- Yes, better than to drink beer
I had stopped at my local 7 Eleven on the way home to buy two JUMBO bottles of Diet MAX so I ripped open one bottle first thing when I came home.
Swedish Hip Hop - This time from Go:teborg
And hold on to your hat!! This time it is a video and it is 17 minutes and 49 seconds long
FY FAN VA FET!!! Well, European Hip Hop is what I like the best. Swedish, Polish, German and Scandinavian. And Instead of doing Korean Pop they should do music like this, but of course there are more money in the “Pling Plong Tjing Tjong”. There are a few Swedish guys making most of the Korean pop music and they sell it to the Koreans. And my guess is that the Koreans add the “Pling Plong Tjing Tjong” lyrics.
Not very much to do in the North of Sweden and there is a guy sitting in a snowdrift making the music for Rappa Gaga, Madonna and some of the big hip hop artists in the USA. Of course, he made himself several millions. And he got a cool name MARK MARK or something out of the deal as well. And of course, the music sucks.
And I saw on Aljazeera that Heineken have bought Tiger beer. Well, I really hope they don't foock up the Tiger beer. Heineken is not a good tasting beer. Well, with plenty ice it is drinkable. But it doesn’t even come close to as good as the Tiger beer is. I think the second bidder was Singha breweries in Thailand so at least we got the best out of 2 bad options.
Well, will be interesting if I can keep on drinking Tiger Light or if Heineken will manage to foock up this excellent beer. The best would be for San Miguel Light to start selling beer in all the bars and then there would be no problem.
Saturday 29th of September 2012 and I was more dead than alive when my alarm went off at 8 thirty. I have been surprised, no problem to fall asleep since I came home and I have just been waiting for the first night of tossin' and turnin' in bed. And here it came and I didn't fall asleep until almost 5 o'clock in the morning. And that is even though I was dead tired when I went to bed.
I had my “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® and a pot of tea before I left for Chakrit Muay Thai School. There were quite a few people exercising at Chakrit when I arrived and I was surprised. Saturday morning and I expected people to be home sleeping. I recognised one of the guys and we said hello to each others. There were 2 girls and 2 Teachers in the ring. 1 Teacher did the mitts with a lady that looked like she was 60 ++ but she was kicking arse.
We did 10 rounds yesterday, my Teacher said it was 11, but I call it 10. Today I told him that we were going to do 12.
I had to give up after 5 due to severe pain in my left arm. We did all rounds with my left arm yesterday and as soon as I started to punch I could feel all the sour muscles in the arm and hand. Very painful and I gave up after 5 rounds and I walked back home where I had a glass of flaxseeds with a bag of ELECTROLYTE before I had my shower. I had planned to go to Chatuchak in the afternoon.
I have the subway station just around the corner and there is a subway station smack in the middle of the Chatuchak Weekend Market. But I decided to go by taxi, I didn't want to arrive soaked in sweat in my new shirt. And the price difference isn't that much. Of course, the environment would be the winner if more people went by the subway and sky train.
But as long as they want to have F1 race I will go by taxi. So no one is serious about our environment. One F1 race destroys more than I can do in the whole of my life. The polar ices are melting away changing the global weather and people are more concerned about having the latest mobile phone, so yes, I took a taxi.
The chances for me to meet a girl that want to have children with me are, well, hmm, less than very slim so I won't have any children that will take over the mess we leave behind. So let's travel to the end in business class kill and eat/ stuff and hang on the wall as a trophy the last endangered species and destroy the last rivers and forests we have.
I don't care, I like it in the city and I'm scared of snakes and stuff. Well, anyway, the last specie on the earth will be the cockroaches.
And isn't it strange? A cockroach survives anything. Drop the A bomb and they are the only one surviving. But as soon as they and up on the back they are soon dead. You must have noticed that all the dead cockroaches you see are on their back.
And I must admit, I have helped cockroaches belly up to turn around so they can survive. Respect for life, I don't need to run around praying to any God, most religions are about respect for life and treat others as you want to be treated.
I spent 2 or 3 hours at Chatuchak before I took a taxi back to Sukhumvit. I told the driver to take me to Sukhumvit Soi 23. I was hungry and I had planned for a pizza at Little Italy. I changed my mind, I wanted to try the Italian on Sukhumvit Soi 19 so I asked the driver to take me to Soi 19 instead. And on the way I decided to go to Tony Roma's at Terminal 21 instead, same Soi so it wasn't any problem.
Baked potato soup and a full baby back with a bottle of water and I was full when I left Tony Roma's for Emporium.
They will start the work in my laundry room on Monday and they will deliver my new vacuum cleaner with the new LG WD-1332RDS washer and dryer combo.
But I reckon that there will be much dust while they are working and vacuum cleaner can come in handy. So I decided to walk up to Emporium and the Power Mall to pick up my vacuum cleaner (made in Germany) But first a ice cream at Dairy Queen and I went down the basement. Queue at Dairy Queen and I decided to skip the ice cream and I left for the Power Mall at Emporium on Sukhumvit Soi 24 to pick up my vacuum cleaner.
Sunday 30th of September 2012 and I'll be darned. I was dead tired when I went to bed at 11 o'clock yesterday due to lack of sleep. I was wide awake as soon as I got to bed and I 4didn't fall asleep until 4 o'clock. So I was not exactly jumping out of bed when my alarm went off at 8 thirty. I went for a shower and I was off to my kitchen to start my day with a Diet MAX.
I read the news while enjoying my Diet MAX and when I was full awake I had my “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® and tea. And I had just finished my breakfast when my Teacher arrived with his friends.
He brought the contract from the contractor and we looked at the contract while his friends removed the dryer and washing machine. The contractor want 24,750 Baht for the job in the laundry room and they will start tomorrow morning.
Very good, I hope that I can have Power Mall to deliver my new LG WD-1332RDS washer and dryer combo on Tuesday or Wednesday. Latest on Wednesday or I will start having a laundry problem. Not with my clothes, I have enough shirts, socks and underwear to last me for a month or 2. But my boxing clothes will soon be a problem, I have 4 or 5 trousers and 2 t-shirts with a pocket for my iPod. Otherwise I have t-shirts to last me for 3 or 4 days (2 shirts per day as I have 2 sessions)
So I have trousers and t-shirts for 2 days of training, or 4 because I will not go to Chakrit while they are working with my laundry room.
But I don't expect the job to take longer than 3 days, maybe there will be some waiting for the new granite top that will be placed on top of the new LG WD-1332RDS. And when they are finished I don't have any more redecoration to do for a long time. At least I hope so
We also had to fill up a form from the condo office that they were allowed to remove the old washing machine and dryer from my condo before we could take out the machines.
My Teacher brought 3 friends and when we came down to the parking lot the machines was already on the back of the truck and it had been a very smooth thing to remove the machines. They took off and I returned to my condo for a shower. I told the Teacher that I would be on for a session at Sophia Muay Thai Gym tomorrow if the work in my laundry room went according to plan.
My last decoration and I had to be home for a week or two during the day time, not very fun. And when I did my bath room it was really boring to sit here for 2 weeks. But I managed to update all my old web pages with new and bigger pictures during the job. Well, I will be able to take off to Sophia Muay Thai Gym in the afternoons, but I will have to skip the Chakrit until they are ready in my laundry room.
My laundry room “Before and after” that my Teacher had been here
I had a shower and I left for MBK Center, I need new headphones and the girl selling me the headphones at MBK last time was quite beautiful. I stopped at the furniture shop at Taipan Hotel. Yes, you know exactly which shop it is when I tell you SALE 50%. Amazing, they have had a SALE 50% going on for 15 years.
If you have SALE 50% posters up for more than 2 weeks in Sweden, and any other civilized country the Police would have come to tear down the posters. And the owner would have been arrested.
Well, anyway, I bought a chair there a few years ago
- Real leather, only 10,000 Baht
-OK, can you deliver?
They delivered the chair and I threw out my office chair on wheels, the wheels foocked up the teak floor. Didn't take long before the leather started to fall off and when I left the chair behind it looked like I had some severe problem with dandruff, or as it was snowing from me. Snowing, it was more like a foocking blizzard
And it got real embarrassing when I had guests.
- Can I use the internet?
- No problem
When they were finished and they came back out from my computer room they soon, or someone else soon discovered that there were stuff falling off them.
- What is that?
I stepped in to the shop and I showed the pictures for the lady. She could not understand that, she had left the chairs to a company that put the leather on the chairs.
She told me that she was only working with wood and she had sent the chairs to another company to get the leather. She told me that she had paid for leather, well, I don't know what she had paid for, but she promised to come to pick up my chair. She told me that she remembered me and where I lived. Of course, here is the sucker that paid 10,000 Baht for a plastic covered chair.
I left the shop and when I came to the Interchange Tower or whatever the name is I entered to take the subway crossing under Asoke Road.
My plan was to go have some Italian food at Soi 19 and from there cross Sukhumvit via Time Square. Visit the girl at the Hi Fi shop at Time Square before taking a taxi to MBK Center.
I was halfway through the Interchange Tower when I changed my mind. I turned back and I went to Little Italy for some spaghetti and spinach gratin. Yes, my plan with fee evenings works out real beautiful, instead of Bangkok Fight Club I go to restaurants eating everything on the menu.
Well, I will go to Bangkok Fight Club on Monday evening. I'm better of sparring with the 12 years old, girl than to run around restaurants eating myself out of all proportions.
I asked for spaghetti, spinach gratin and garlic bread with mozzarella. So I was full when I left Little Italy and of course, full of agony on top of the food. I was soon back on my original path towards MBK Center.
I walked under Asoke and I took the escalator to the sky train station on the other side of Asoke. I by passed the sky train station and Terminal 21 and I was soon at Time Square. And I stepped in to the Hi Fi shop to see if the girl was working today. Of course, I could not say that I wanted to see her so I went straight to the Nakamichi amplifier I was looking at the last time.
Probably the most beautiful girl in Bangkok
She asked where my bag was
Last time at the Hi Fi store
She recognised me and she asked where my bag was. I told her that it was Sunday and that I only used the bag for school. But I was disappointed, what had done the greatest impact on her? Me or my bag? I stayed for 30 minutes talking with her before I left for MBK Center.
And I won't be surprised if I'm back one of those days to buy the Nakamichi amplifier. I took a taxi to MBK and I bought 3 head phones and I went town to the taxi queue, no people. When I arrived there was like thousands of people waiting for a taxi so I was surprised and I decided to go to Tops Market next door to buy some tuna.
I bought all the tuna they had and when I was back at the taxi stand there were people waiting. Luckily enough not so many people and I had a taxi after 15 minutes.
