Thursday 29th of August 2013 and we ran in to traffic jam on the high way and the traffic was at a full stop for 30 minutes before we started to move forward. The exit at Sukhumvit was full so we continued to Rama 4. I told the driver to take Sukhumvit Soi 22 and 31 instead of Ratchadapisek. In bad traffic it is easy to lose an hour or 2 on Ratchadapisek.
The security guard helped me with my bags and the Russian wooden doll (Matryoshka doll) was soon out of the bag. And I was happy to see that the doll had made it without being destroyed like the Ganesha elephant I bought in India last year.
I checked my sofa and arm chairs that they had delivered when I was on board Rickard Maersk. I was pretty pleased with the result
And yes, I will have to buy new potted plants
I took my shopping bag and I left for Tops to buy onion and apples and I made a detour via Sophia Muay Thai Gym to see if they had a time for me this very afternoon. I had tried to call my Teacher but there were no answer and when I came to Sophia Muay Thai Gym I discovered that they had closed down. All punching bags and the ring was gone. Yeah, I was not in a good mood to discover this and now I will have to come up with a new training plan. Chacrit on Soi 39, most likely.
I stopped at El Gaucho, the Argentinian restaurant on Soi 19 and the staff started to scream
- WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
I got my lamb chops with spinach and 2 big glasses of tea. I didn't even need to see the menu, they knew what I wanted.
It was delicious and I rolled across the street to Tops Market. I walked back home with my apples and onions and I was almost falling asleep when I was back home. But I forced myself to stay out of bed, my plan was to go check out Bangkok Fight Club. Well, I missed Bangkok Fight Club.
Friday 30th of August 2013 and it was almost 2 o'clock, in the afternoon when I woke up. I must really have been tired. And of course, my own bed and I slept good. The bed at Marmara Hotel in Istanbul had been very nice. But the bed in Izmir, 150 by 60cm and even though I had been up for almost 2 days it was impossible to sleep. My legs were hanging out over the bottom end of the bed.
I had a pot of tea with my “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® and I was off to Lat Prao to buy stuff for my e-cigarettes. The driver was waiting while I did my purchases and we were soon on our way back to Sukhumvit Soi 23. The driver dropped me at my local 7 Eleven and I bought a few San Miguel Lights before I walked back home.
And talking about beer, on the way back home the taxi driver asked me why “farangs” didn't like to drink beer with ice. Well, who are you talking to? I drink my San Miguel Light from the bottle ,if it is served cool. But we have numerous examples (we have seen plenty pictures on aladdin.st of buckets full of ice and bottles of San Miguel Light) of how they can't keep up keeping the San Miguel Light cold when I'm in the bar. Then I add some ice in the beer. But otherwise I always add ice in my beer.
A little something for you to enjoy while I go to enjoy San Miguel Light on town
Baggy jeans, kepsen på sne
Saturday 31st of August 2013 and I spent the afternoon in bed watching hangover DVDs. I was going to meet my friend at a Japanese restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 26 at 7 o'clock.. I was about to leave to Pelican on Soi 22 to buy snus when my boxing Teacher from Sophia Muay Thai Gym called. He was in the area and he came to pick me up and we were soon on our way to Pelican.
We bought 2 cans of snus and we left for the boxing glove factory behind Tesco on Rama 4. We were soon on our way to Sukhumvit Soi 26 but the traffic was at a full stop and we had to return trying to get to the Japanese restaurant from the other direction.
My Teacher had opened an Italian/ Thai restaurant when the closed Sophia Muay Thai Gym and I wrote down the address for me. They were going to have a birthday
party there tonight and I would try to come over later on in the evening.
It was strange, I stepped in to the restaurant and one of the Waitresses told me that my friends were sitting over there.
- How do you know they are my friends?
My friend had already ordered sake when I came to the Japanese restaurant. The Waitress poured sake for me and I told her NO THANKS. I will stick with the San Miguel Light.
They were obviously not taking no for an answer and I was soon sitting there drinking sake while waiting for my food.
And that's even though I don't drink sake anymore, I remember last time we had sake and I'm better of sticking to the San Miguel Light. But I was under a lot of pressure so I had a few cups of the hot sake.
I had asked for salmon maki, sausages with French fries and some asparagus with my San Miguel Light. Salmon maki and the asparagus were excellent, but the sausages left a lot to wish for. They were busy bringing beer to our table and we were soon running in to the same ol' problem with warm San Miguel Light.
They can't keep up keeping the San Miguel Light cold.
- We only have warm San Miguel Light
- No problem, can I have some ice
- No problem!
They brought a glass of ice and we could continue. It must have been 10 or something like that when we paid the bill and left for Sukhumvit Soi 22 where I had another beer, or two before I took a taxi to my friend's new restaurant.
By the time I got there it was way past midnight and they had closed down.
I meet them on the street and my friend told me that they had filled up the fridge with San Miguel Light, but now they were closed. OK, I took off to check out SOLID Bar on Sukhumvit Soi 107. I had never heard of the place before and when we finally found the place I ran in to MC Skuph. Turned out it was MC Skuph that had opened the place with some friends.
I knew MC Skuph from Overstay where I meet him with the 45 Thieves and this is a guarantee for good music at SOLID Bar. But they didn't have San Miguel Light so I had to drink Heineken with ice. But Heineken is way way better than beer Leo from plastic cups at the Overstay.
I was back home way to late and it was already 1st of September when I was back home in bed. So I was pretty sure that the month of September 2013 will start with a hangover.
OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.
