And I took a taxi to Ratchadamri Road via Phetchaburi Road. I got out of the taxi at Platinum Mall and I walked back to Ratchadamri in look for my whistle. The GIANT whistle will be the last thing I need for my “whistle revolution” mementos. Then I have enough for this time, and next time we will have to see what they will come up with to use during their protests. Hopefully not a gun. Well, anyway, I have to be careful not to get a counterfeit whistle.

Not many protesters at Ratchaprasong

I walked down to Ratchaprasong intersection and there wasn't many protesters. Mostly vendors and tourists looking in the stalls. They could as well turn Ratchadamri in to a permanent walking street and market. Then they could move all the shit from Sukhumvit to Ratchadamri, that would be a very good thing. There was something going on at the stage and a few protestors watching.

I had not find any GIANT whistle and I continued to walk up Rama 1 towards MBK in my look for “whistle revolution” mementos. Rama 1 was really crowded, the street was full of vendors and people walking up and down Rama 1 looking at what the vendors had to offer. And there was plenty tourists at the protest site.

And these tourists can easily run in to a dangerous situation. The come here and it is like a carnival/ amusement park. Music on stages and food vendors along the street. Just like a summer festival in Europe. They buy whistles and “SHUT DOWN Bangkok” T-shirts. And if they are unlucky they can run in to a red shirt or two a few blocks away. They know about the protest, but maybe not the seriousness, it seems to be like a big street party.

I walked up Rama 1 to MBK. There was another stage with someone screaming in anger. I turned left and walked down Phayathai Road. I was walking down the Phayathai Road minding my own business when I heard someone screaming Aladdin. It was a friend and she sold T-shirts.

Seriously, wouldn't it be more of a statement to walk next to the pictures. What kind of childish thing is this?

Why don't they throw in a few of these attractions to make it more fun?

And the guy in the green T-shirt, I suspected that he was a scavenger. I was looking at the pictures they used to write insults on when he came up to me. He shook my hand. What the Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st SHUT DOWN Bangkok with People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and Suthep ThaugsubanYou know how your mouth feels when you got something in your mouth you don't want to have there.

Something from the street or doggy poo. There is a bad taste in your mouth and it is there until you have brushed your teeth, even if it is several hours later. My hand felt the same and I was desperately looking for a “clean” bathroom to wash my hands. Took me and hour to find a bathroom at MBK and my right hand felt dirty all the time.

Someone want to shake your hand and you just put out your hand per automatic, one of the reason I always try to carry a bag in my right hand SHUT DOWN Bangkok with People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and Suthep Thaugsubanand I can't shake hand. Well, anyway, he wanted me to take a picture of him in front of a poster. As soon as I took the picture I was off to look for a bath room.

I didn't know who he was but I just had a sense that he was a scavenger living on the street. Always a bunch of them around at protest sites eating free food.

And I was right, 2 hours later and I saw the guy searching garbage bags.

I managed to find the GIANT whistle
Now I have enough red shirt and “whistle revolution” mementos
I left the ice rink at World Trade Center and I had a look at the stage at Ratchaprasong before walking to Phetchaburi Road to take a taxi back home. There was an angry gay on the stage. I noticed something I never heard before at the red shirt protests back in 2010. They always started by addressing the crowd with:
- พี่น้อง
PEE NONG, means siblings. Brother and sisters. Maybe been used before but nothing I had noticed. The PDRC is of course using the same พี่น้อง but today I heard them using พ่อแม่ (Poo Mae) Means parents, father and mother in front of the พี่น้อง

I tried to make a video of the terrible whistling, but it didn't turn out very good. There was a guy handing me his whistle and he shat himself when I brought out my BAZOOKA whistle. He asked why I didn't use my whistle.
- It is only a souvenir!

Well, now we have covered 2 protest sites, we have covered # 2, # 3 and # 4 on the map below, but there is more. I only wish I could bring my real camera, the Canon D60. But that is too much to carry around. Well, maybe I will bring it next time, the quality of the pictures is beyond compare. But it feels a wee bit stupid walking around with the camera.

And people treat you different when carrying a huge camera around your neck. I have been going around Bangkok with my D60 and they think you're a tourist. I spoke Thai with the taxi drivers but they only spoke English back, only when I have my D60

Tomorrow we're going to cover protest site at Silom Road. There are no Silom protest site on the map, but I think Lumpini should be Silom and I took the liberty to move protest site #1. Well, anyway, I'm off to have a look tomorrow so hang on, this might be exciting. But I doubt it.
