Boxing in Bangkok And my friend arrived 10 minutes before 11 o'clock and we were off to the squash Aladdin's adventure in Bangkok/ FUNKY TOWNroom for some boxing. I had some trouble getting my friend out of my sofa. We did 10 rounds and we checked out my pictures from the protest sites yesterday. I told him that I would go to check out the Victory monument today.

He told me to go in the evening instead. And I understand that people have to work during the days. Not like the farmers, they had finished the rice and could spend the days sitting in the Ratchaprasong intersection. Well, I will go to the Victory Monument today to check it out. But first I had to get rid of my friend, my Aladdin's adventure in Bangkok/ FUNKY TOWNcourses in Manila are confirmed and while I was booking tickets and hotel room my friend rearranged the furniture in the kitchen.

I come out in the kitchen.
Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st - What the Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st have you done? Are you crazy?
He looked very satisfied.
- This is much better!
- I cannot have it like this

We adjusted the table and when he left I made a pot of tea and I had a bowl of fruit with the tea. My new diet, I buy fresh fruit at Tops Market and I will Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st hopefully be able to stay away Aladdin's adventure in Bangkok/ FUNKY TOWNfrom the restaurants when walking around town.

The pancakes at NANA Hotel yesterday was a huge setback for my diet and this will Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st hopefully never happen again. They tasted very good, but I was ridden by agony for several hours after having finished them.

And I got my Thai lessons for tomorrow afternoon Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stconfirmed, will be nice to get back to school again. Now I only have the time to Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai videos again. Can't remember the last time I watched any of the videos.

I left to look for a taxi to the Victory monument and I have ever seen so many cars on the road before, and the traffic was almost to a full stop. They were squeezing all the traffic from Asoke Road in to Sukhumvit Soi 23 and Soi 23 is not a very big street. One lane in each direction.

The lanes towards Ratchadapisek was empty and no traffic so it took me a while before I found a taxi. I told the driver to go to Din Daeng and the Victory Monument. There was no traffic between Asoke and the Victory Monument and we made it in a few minutes. I got out of the taxi and I went up on the sky walk under the sky train. There was a stage South of the Victory Monument with some people in front of the stage. And when I came down to the protest site I discovered that most of the people were lining up for free food.

I walked down to the Rajavithi Hospital, 200 meters down the Ratchawithi Road where there was a check point and a hut for the guards made by sand bags. Not much people around. I turned around and I walked back to the Victory Monument and from there I walked along the Phayathai Road and over the Hua Chang Bridge to the protest site at MBK.

Would anyone wanted to be taken seriously wanting to be associated with this kind of stuff? Especially after claiming that the opponent's voters are too stupid to vote and they should not be allowed to vote. Then you pull out these voters from the hat as a prime example of “quality” voters. Like one of their votes should be equal to a million of the opponent's stupid voter's vote.
The red shirts was exactly the same. Maybe it is a cultural thing, at the brink of a war with your neighbour country and instead of negotiations they call each others for DIRTY DOGS etc.

But also in Sweden, 3 Politicians in high positions in Sverigedemokraterna. A party being accused of being Nazis have been working their way in to the Swedish SverigedemokraternaParliament and they are getting bigger by the year.

But they are fighting uphill and they don't need any scandals. I had just paid for a lifelong member ship when this story got known to the public. They were drunk 4 o'clock in the morning in Stockholm back in June 2010. Walking around with a iron pipe calling people whores and niggers. What the Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st I could not believe my ears when I heard about it. Of course, rightly so, they had to give up their functions in the party.

I was surprised when I got an e-mail from one of these 3 gays, I don't remember who. But he was setting up a society of Sverigedemokrater living abroad

She asked if she could take a picture of me in my PUZZLE shirt and hat
Happened later on at MBK as well when a girl in school uniform wanted to take a “selfie” with my PUZZLE shirt and hat

Yes, I have learned a new word during this protest. The word selfie, never heard of it before, but I read Not the Nation and I stumbled upon their hilarious article about how the Protestors Threaten To Paralyze Instagram With “Billion Selfie” Assault Hilarious and a must read, so just click the link.

Well, anyway, happy to help the girl in the school uniform. As long as she is not abusing my picture that is, of course! “cigarette” Police

Leaving Victory Monument protest site

I left the Victory Monument protest site behind and I was plunging down Phayathai Road towards MBK and the protest site there by foot. I decided to skip the tuna steak at MBK and to walk back home. I had not been in this area for a very long time, many many years and I could not recognise anything. Malls and big new houses all the way down to MBK.

I crossed Phetchaburi and passed a check point manned by people in the same uniform the “cigarette” Police are wearing. Yes, Bangkok under siege and you would think they had other more important things to do. But no, they are still at lower Sukhumvit hustling tourists. They have a Cigarette police on Sukhumvit Roadnew technique I never seen before. They hide in a telephone booth and when they see a tourist passing by smoking on a cigarette the spring in to action.
They don't bother with Thai people.

A tourist is passing, sucking on a coffin nail, and as soon as the tourist have walked by the “cigarette” Police springs in to action. It is fun to watch. Next time at Robinson on Sukhumvit Soi 19 have a look. There is a telephone booth when you come up from Tops Market and there are usually one of those “cigarette” Police in the phone booth. He follows the tourist, a few meters Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stbehind. And it is now the fun start. When the tourist stops to look at something the “cigarette” Police turns around pretending to look in another direction.

Of course it is a scam. Well, anyway, a few meters further down Phayathai road and I'm passing a military “Emergency Response Team”

I stop for a chat and they asked how I was and when I said that I wasn’t feeling so good they offered medicine. They had plenty medicines stand-by on a table behind the sand bags. They wondered what was wrong with me.
- ไม่มีฝีมือจีบผู้หญิง I said
They were laughing, and one of the soldiers was a female and I exchanged a few words with her before I continued down Phayathai Road to the Hua Chang Bridge over the Saen Saep canal. I passed The Rock, former Hollywood and the house next to the bridge was gone. I think there was a live band pub some 20 years ago. Now the house was gone and children were playing having a good time. I don't know why I liked the spot, it was beautiful even though it was a ugly site. I stopped for quite a while watching the spot. A Thai man with a bicycle stopped by.

It ws like he had to excuse me for his country for the ongoing protest and general state of afairs and he told me
- Amazing Thailand!
We had a chat and left the place behind, and I made a mental note to come back with my camera to take some more pictures. Well, it was this moment, next time I might hate the place.

I said good bye to the guy on the bicycle and I stepped up on the Hua Chang Bridge. There was a check point preventing the few cars allowed to get in to the street to cross the Hua Chang Bridge. Only a few cars and a tourist bus bound for the hotel. I was not alone walking towards the protest site on the other side of the Hua Chang Bridge, but there wasn't much people going in my direction. But there were people leaving, plenty beautiful girls so I changed lane to walk head on to the people leaving. I had four girls in school uniform walking behind me towards the protest site and we were approaching the security check.

We passed the security check, well, they didn't check me. Only smiling, but the girls in the school uniforms had to open their bags. The girl behind me had her bag open and she asked if I wanted some snacks.
- No thanks, I'm on diet!

There were plenty TV vans with satellite dishes inside the security and it looked like a battery of anti aircraft canons pointing up to the sky. The girls left and I started to walk towards Siam Square and I passed a guy in a wheel chair. He had a small guy helping him to get around. But they could not pass traffic island (refuge) and I offered to help. They told me to be quiet so I turned around and I left. When I turned around I saw all the people standing still, yes, 18:00 and the national anthem was played as they do in Thailand everyday at 18:00

Well, never mind, I didn't return to help them out with the wheel chair. I went to see if my friend was working selling the T-shirt. She was not, seems like there are different people every day. The “throwing balls” attraction was empty, seems like the excitement had worn off. I walked back to Rama I and I stopped at 7 Eleven to buy supplies. When I was back out on Rama I again I could hear whistles and Thai flags approaching. Sounded like there were hundreds of them. I put my camera in video mode, but it was only a few of them.

There were plenty people at the market between MBK and Ratchaprasong, maybe because all the office people finished their job. Ratchaprasong was almost empty when I passed around 7 o'clock.

I walked to Sukhumvit and I passed Marriott, second day I passing Marriott without stopping for their buffet. Unheard of a few years ago, always stopping at Marriott. I passed NANA hotel without stopping for pancakes and tea, a great day for my diet.

Not much difference at the protest sites after declaration of state of emergency. There are some military posts on the streets but no extra police or military in sight. Well, I'm currently on a schedule with boxing in the morning and 2 hours of Thai school in the afternoon from Monday to Friday and it feels very good to have started to study Thai again. We had a minor set-back. We had too much time over between the boxing and Thai school so we took my Mangofriend's car to Sukhumvit Soi 22. We wanted to eat the curry soup from Chiang Mai at Pinklao. And on top of that we ordered sticky rice and mango, and of course, we took the “large” plate.

We parked on Washington Square and everything was gone. Just the buildings at the entrance and the parking space was full. I was surprised when the lady let us in and we followed her in the car. She removed the steel fence and there was the whole of former Washington Square to park on. But I must admit that it looked like there could be snakes around. And it was amazing to see how quick Washington Square had been over grown by bushes and grass.

My friend dropped me on Asoke and I walked through the protest site to my school. My Teacher started to talk about plastic surgery and suddenly we had Samitivej's web page on her computer. She had a student that had had liposuction at Samitivej and suddenly we were speaking with a Doctor at Samitivej Hospital on Sukhumvit Soi 49. My Teacher told me it cost 300 000 Baht to do the operation.

We just wanted information and suddenly I found myself with a 4 o'clock in the afternoon appointment with the Doctor at Samitivej Hospital. I was imagine myself with a V-shaped torso and I could not wait to get out of the class room when I finished my class (early)

And the darn protests, I had to walk all the way to Sukhumvit Soi 23. I was more like half running as I was in a hurry to get to the hospital. 300 000 Baht, it will be worth it. They told us 170 000 to 190 000 Baht on the phone, but you know how it is there are always the “extras”. Never mind, I was imagine myself walking down Sukhumvit like a Hee Man, and of course, the girls would fall heel over Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stheads when Charisma Man (No San Miguel Light required) coming down the Sukhumvit Road with a V-shaped torso.

I got in to a taxi outside Little Italy.
- SAMITIVEJ HOSPITAL! ON THE MOTHERFOOCKING DOUBLE!
The driver took off with smokin' and screamin' tyres and we left Soi 23 behind us like a bullet from a gun. The driver drove like ha had stolen the car. Yes, I could not get there quick enough. Halfway to Sukhumvit Soi 49 I started to think about all the upcoming problems. I have, I don't know how many shirts. My shirts will of course turn in to garbage (or tent for the protesters at Asoke Road) This will of course be expensive to re do all my shirts. But it is still worth it.

According to their web page I need to stay one night at the hospital and no time to make new shirts before leaving for Manila on Sunday. We passed Sukhumvit Soi 39 and right there and then I came up with the best idea ever. WHAT IF I DO IT WHEN I COME BACK HOME FROM TEMPURA in ManilaMANILA? I can spend 2 weeks in Manila eating at my favourite Japanese Restaurant, TEMPURA every day. And when I'm back home the Doctor can remove it all.

We took the last corner on 2 wheels and I was off at Samitivej Hospital and I went to look for the Doctor. Samitivej looks much better than Bumrungrad Hospital but the signs are at least to say bad. Very small and it was not easy to find my way around the hospital. I asked for the Doctor in the reception.

The girls started to discuss and it seemed like they never heard of the Doctor.
- The Doctor that will make me very handsome!
- Ah! On the 6th floor
- Thank you, I said and I took off.

Of course, I ended up on the 6th floor in the wrong tower, but Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.stthere was a beautiful Nurse that showed me to the right place. We stepped in to the plastic surgery department and there were 8 Nurses behind the desk. Miss very beautiful Nurse handed me over to the Samitivej Hospital in BangkokNurses and she left. I discovered that they did more than liposuction here. Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st Hmm, maybe I can leave as a totally new guy!

Hair Recovery something and I asked how much that would cost. Would come to 150 000 Baht, of course, no money back guarantee and I suspect that it is pure humbug. Believe me, if they have found the cure for baldness I would know about it by now. I'm kind of following the progress with the cure. And I remember travelling the world with the stupid “MAGIC HAIR STUFF”

Well, I guess I'm better off without, nothing good would for sure come out from the “Hair analysis System” analysing my scalp. I think the best solution is the one I use, a baseball cap. The second best solution is the “hair on can” Spray your scalp with hair before leaving home.

The BABES are back!!!!

I was in the alcove experimenting with the “Hair analysis System” when one of the Nurses came to get me. The Doctor was available and the Nurse brought me to a room where a 20 year old girl was sitting behind a desk. She introduced herself as the Plastic Surgeon
Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st - What the Yet another Smiley on www.aladdin.st

How can this young girl be a Doctor? Well, she had obviously been under the knife/ laser and whatever else equipment they are using. I told her to remove hundreds of kilo of lard.
Liposuction- We can only remove 3 kilo

Instant disappointment, I said thank you and paid 500 Baht for the consultation. What a waste of time and money this adventure turned in to. I was disappointed at least to say.

Yes, I was expecting to have to go straight to the Tailor from the hospital. Now I took a taxi back home and I was in a totally different mood from when I arrived to Samitivej Hospital.

I left my school bag at home and I left for Sukhumvit and a taxi to World Trade Center to check out some fabric. I walked through Asoke Protest site and I crossed Sukhumvit at Time Square.

Turned out to be hard to find a taxi that wanted to go to Ratchaprasong. While waiting for a taxi SHUT DOWN Bangkok with People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and Suthep ThaugsubanI heard music coming from the East bound lanes on Sukhumvit.

After a while there were a group of protesters coming. I went up on the walk over and there was a second group coming.

They were obviously on the way to the protest site at Asoke/ Sukhumvit intersection. They had the famous bag used for people to put money in, well, the bag looked quite empty. When Suthep Thaugsuban and his friends had disappeared down at Asoke I left the bridge and I found a taxi that took me to Central Chidlom and I walked from there to World Trade Center. I could not help but notice that I had not seen anyone wearing a red shirt in Bangkok since I left home. Well, today there is one wearing red, me! I passed 2 protest sites in my red shirt and cap. Walking down the street and the motorcycle taxi drivers were shouting at me.
- Red shirt, very good!

During the red shirt rally the motorcycle taxi drivers were all, well, most of them were red shirts. AT the protest sites the girls were smiling at my shirt. Some of the security personnel was shouting RED SHIRT after me. But no worries. These protests have become very boring by now and the only way to “spice” it up a notch is to wear a red shirt.

I approached Ratchaprasong and I was disappointed, World Trade Center was all dark in it looked like it was closed. I asked around and 2 beautiful girls told me it was because of the protest. Closing at least 4 hours early and I had come down here for nothing! I walked around the protest site for an hour. Suddenly I became very hungry, I blame it on the lunch we had at Pinklao.

My fridge is full of fruit. Bags of apple and “ready to eat” fruit from Tops market. Should have stayed home to eat the fruit, now it is just a waste of money. Well, I was hungry and there was no more energy for walking around so I took a taxi to Sukhumvit Soi 3.

I left Landmark Hotel and the Greenhouse restaurant determined never to go to any restaurant again and I walked back home. And yet again, passing a protest site and someone is calling ALADDIN. SHUT DOWN Bangkok with People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and Suthep Thaugsuban
Terminal 21 from Time Square

I booked a car to come to pick me up Sunday morning at 4 o'clock, and that means that I will have Bangkok Airport Limousineto get out of bed at 3 o'clock in the morning. My bag is packed, plus an San Marino Tuna Paella in Manilaextra empty duffel bag. The very same duffel bag I bought in Honolulu, can as well use it now when I wasted 16 dollars. My plan is to bring back cans of tuna from Manila and I hope I can stuff the bag with 40 kilo of their excellent tuna.

This was the bet tuna ever, of course, it was not pure tuna. They called it tuna paella if I remember it right. It was very best San Marino Tuna Paella in Manilatuna I have ever had and as I was on diet last time in Manila I had the tuna for breakfast. I brought a can to the restaurant and they brought mango, chopped onion and tea from the kitchen. Yes, they thought it was strange, the first week but then they got used to it and my onion and tea came without me having to ask for it. Do they still remember me?

Breakfast last time in Manila

Well, I'm looking forward to the Sam Marino tuna paella, but I'm for sure not looking forward to the 07:25 flight. Thai Airways flight TG 620 to Manila, why did the change the departure flight from the afternoon to early morning? I don't like it. And same going back home, before Thai Airways departed 8 o'clock in the evening, now changed to 13:10.

Well, anyway, I'm off for 2 weeks adventure in Manila so hang on! It might be fun.
TEMPURA and Tuna Paella, here I come!
