  Driving back to my room and I am thinking about going to Kaeng Krachan National Park. I am inspired by the YouTube channel Karl's Thailand. He is out looking for tigers and wildlife in Thailand, can be worth watching! I check for transportation after having sent a message to the Guide I used last time in Kaeng Krachan National Park. I looked for transportation while waiting for answer from the Guide. Very lucky and I found Bliss Travel, they need 2 hours’ notice. I told them that I would confirm as soon as I had an answer from my Guide. And the price was very competitive, 1500฿ one way. The Guide confirmed and I booked the car and a hotel. Pick up at 15:00 and the driver was 20  minutes early. That is the spirit we are looking for!
Going down and I see the car parked outside. The driver takes my bag and put it in the back and we are soon leaving Samut Prakan bound for Hua Hin.  Leaving Samut Prakan
 They have completed the elevated highway above Rama II
 The car was comfy, plenty space in the back seat. We leave Samut Prakan and we are soon on the toll way across the river. The elevated highway above Rama II is finally completed, the construction must have been ongoing for 10 to 15 years. We were hauling arse along the toll way, we stop at a 7 eleven as soon as we come off the toll way. I bought refreshments for tomorrow, nuts to have for a picnic snack in Kaeng Krachan National Park. A bottle of milk for my tea at the hotel room. Having brought my tea cup and I will try to stick to nuts and tea in my room. Breakfast is included and that is a wee bit worrying. I will  hopefully be able to stick to tea and omelette for breakfast.

  Checking in to Holiday Inn Resort Vana Nava Hua Hin 3 hours after leaving Samut Prakan. Bliss Travel and I will keep this contact, I was very happy with the service they had provided and I will use their service again. Holiday Inn is a huge hotel and there was no reception at the ground floor. I had to take the elevator to Level L but I managed to end up in a Kinder Garten. I hate the hotels with the elevators to the reception. It is OK at my last time staying at a hotel like this. There was only one stop, at the reception going up.  Coming in to my room

Happy with the room, no desk, that was a huge set back. I want to have a desk to work with the bird pictures on my lap top. Otherwise, there was everything you can wish for in the room. A kettle and I was soon enjoying a cup of tea in my room together with some nuts I had bought when we stopped at 7 eleven. Spending the rest of the evening in my room going to bed at 9 o'clock and I have asked them for a 5 o'clock wake up call.
Impossible to fall asleep, maybe the excitements to visit the Kaeng Krachan National Park tomorrow. I have not been here for 5 or 6 years or so and I am really looking forward to the visit. Same Guide as I had last time and he is very good, no English, but an opportunity to practice some Thai. The only thing I am worried about, well, not worried. But it is the time of the year when the birds bringing up their babies. They will be busy with the babies and no time to show themself for the bird watchers. Birds or not, I will enjoy the beautiful landscape. +++++++++++++++
Sunday 6th of September 2026 and I am out of bed just after 5 o'clock. Enjoying a cup of tea in my room before going for breakfast at 6 thirty. The breakfast starts at 6 thirty and it gives me 30 minutes before my Guide come to pick me up.

The breakfast was excellent, and I managed to constrain myself. Very nice bread and I only had one slice. I was contempt, my self-control had been impressive at the breakfast buffet. Leaving the restaurant for the elevator to get down to meet my Guide The Guide, turned out to be the son of my Guide. We will meet his father closer to Kaeng Krachan National Park and I will change the car. Driving for about 70 minutes and we stop at a school and my Guide is waiting in his car. Of course, they want to take pictures before we swap the car.  My driver want to have a picture

We take off towards the gate to Kaeng Krachan National Park, about 10 minutes or so. Of course, we are keeping our eyes out for birds on the way to the gate. The first bird we see is one Asian Green Bee-eater sitting on a wire and there was also one Sooty-headed Bulbul before I turned off my eBird app when we reached the gate to Kaeng Krachan National Park.  300฿ less in my valet when we left the gate behind. The first bird we see is a Forest Wagtail foraging on the road. There are several Grey Wagtails looking for insects along the road. My Guide spot 4 Great Hornbills, I only see one of them. We stop and we get out of the car to see if we can see the birds again. We see one of the Great Hornbills flying away, but I never got any pictures. There is one more Bird watcher on the road and he had heard one Black-and-red Broadbill in the vegetation and we go to see if we can spot the bird. Spotting the bird, but the bird refuse to come out in the sunshine and the pictures are very bad. Continuing in the car and we are soon making a stop to check a pond. There is one Blue-bearded Bee-eater, too far away for any good pictures. There is one Asian Openbill on the other side of the road.  Looking for birds along the road
Continuing along the road and when we pass the restaurant we stop. There are some people telling us that the bear is up and about. They go to have a look and we get out of the car to have a look. We see the bear but it is soon disappearing out of sight down the hill side. It is a paved road all the way to the campsite/ restaurant. From there it is a narrow road going up the mountain and there are three streams running across the road. And the area is an eBird hotspot: Kaeng Krachan NP--stream crossings 1–3  Looking for birds along the road
Stopping after have passed the first stream and we walk towards the second stream. Coming out from the car and we hear one Asian Fairy-bluebird and I get a recording. We see three Ochraceous Bulbuls, but not possible to get any pictures of the birds in the dense vegetation. Walking on and I get a recording of one Asian Fairy-bluebird, but I never got the see the bird. Reaching the second stream crossing and we can hear one Red-bearded Bee-eater and we leave the road to try to get a glimpse of the bird. Listen to the Asian Fairy-bluebird

We go off road and we get a glimpse of the bird, it is very dark but I try to get some pictures. I getting through the jungle following my Guide and I notice that I have one bird watcher just behind me. It is the girl we passed with the car before. She is walking along the road having parked the car at the campsite/ restaurant. She is carrying a big camera and she also got pictures of the Red-bearded Bee-eater. My Guide is walking back to get the car and we drive across the second stream crossing. We stop and we get out of the car again and we see 3 Pin-striped Tit-Babblers. 11 thirty and I told my Guide that we could turn around to get back to Holiday Inn in Hua Hin. The girl is walking past us again and we have a chat before we leave for Hua Hin. We pass a few deer on the way back to the gate. We have met the girl looking for bird. And one guy when we arrived. Otherwise, it has been empty, and it is Sunday.  Looking for birds along the road

Weekends and the national parks are full. But my Guide told me that the birds were busy with their babies and thus there are not many birds around. So, the bird watchers are not coming. Birds or not, I have had a great time at Kaeng Krachan National Park. I had seen a couple of lifers so I was happy. We changed the car again reaching the school and we continued to Holiday Inn Resort Vana Nava Hua Hin. I was in my room at 2 o'clock and I searched to internet for a Swedish Restaurant, mostly to see if I could buy some snus. Restaurant Sweden, they do not open until 3 o'clock so I had to kill some time before booking a GRAB car to take me to Restaurant Sweden.  Restaurant Sweden

 Sweden Restaurant was a disappointment, and no snus. Well, maybe it was good that they did not have any snus. I will not bother to come back, cold food and cold hot tea. I took a GRAB back to Holiday Inn Resort Vana Nava Hua Hin where I spent the rest of the day. I have booked a car to pick me up at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning to bring me back to Samut Prakan. Of course, using Bliss Travel again. Holiday Inn Resort Vana Nava Hua Hin, and I will stay here next time I come for bird watching in Hua Hin and Kaeng Krachan National Park.  Next time leaving Samut Prakan will be when we go to Chanthaburi for Sniper Aladdin Gym  (สไนเปอร์ อะลาดินยิม) fight.
