Of course, browsing www.aladdin.st in Safari on an iPad is a different story, nothing looks as it should   Saturday 12th of October 2013 and it took me a few minutes to get out of bed when my alarm went off at 7 twenty. I was tired, but the excitement over arriving helped to alleviate the tiredness.  Hmm, maybe the lemon flavored magnesium “FIZZ” drink and the vitamins  helped a wee bit on top of that. The shower was for sure helping a lot.
We had Pilot on board and the guys started to prepare the mooring ropes on our starboard side. I made the heating logs and reports and when this was ready I started with my pre arrival routines.  I'm pretty excited, new camera, new loud speakers and tea mugs and who knows what other gifts they can come up with.
I went for my last Milo in my cabin and even though I made a “STRONG” hot  “Chocolate Surprise” there was some powder left in the Milo can. Last can of Milo, never! There is always some remaining in the can.  Not quite enough to make one hot “Chocolate Surprise” so I always have to get one more can.
We had all fast at Cosmos Terminal in Chiba at 11:00 and the gangway was down 10 minutes past 11 and the Surveyor and Loading Master was in my office after a few minutes. I had already interrogated our Pilot about shopping and getting in to Tokyo. 10 to 15 minutes with taxi and the train from there to Tokyo. I relayed the information to our Cadets and there was soon changed. I reminded them about my shopping list before they left and now I just hoping. 
 Well, see how this goes, since I was in Tokyo the Japanese are used to more “HANDSOME” foreigners
I went to pick up some Japanese Scooby Doo Dollars, 10000¥ for the taxi at 4 o'clock. The plan was for me to go ashore to buy a new computer. I returned the money 25 minutes later, I was  tired when I got out of the shower and I decided to skip the trip to Chiba.
And as the Cadets are ashore the after dinner movie is cancelled so I started to watch a Danish movie in my cabin. Well, a long movie short, turned out to be nothing but crap and there was a lot of FFW. I went for dinner and we had a new Chief Engineer that joined us today. It went well for start, smoked salmon and avocado. I decided to have a wee bit of ice cream, I went to the kitchen and I got a spray can of whipped cream. Not very good tasting cream, but right there and then it was like I MUST have some whipped cream for my ice cream. Needless to say, I felt like shit when I was finished with the ice cream, 2 plates. Agony on top of  that and I don't think there will be much Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai videos tonight. But it is Saturday so I take it as a day off.

Sunday 13th of October 2013 and they called me 20 minutes before 7 o'clock in the morning. Took me a while to realize that it was my phone, I was running around in my bed room “looking” for the sound. I was soon realizing that it was not my alarm clock and I went in to my living room. I answered the phone and we were about to finish discharging.
I was looking forward to come down to my office, not so excited that I turned cartwheels down there. But almost, I was expecting my desk to be full of packages, camera, loud speakers and I was really looking forward to having a good morning cup of tea from a bucket. Instant disappointment, the Cadets were not back on board. DARN! I should have gone ashore getting my stuff by myself yesterday. I was on deck waiting for the Agent, all paper work completed and the Agent should be on board at 9 thirty and Pilot booked for 11. At 9 o'clock I saw a taxi and our Cadets got out off the taxi.  Finally I can get my stuff. Well, yet again instant disappointment, they only had a box of donuts with them.
- What the 
I had really expected them to be able to get a camera and some loud speakers in Tokyo. Last time i was there it was like they threw cameras after me. They told me that they hd only been able to see Nikon and Sony cameras. - Sony is not a camera! We were filling ballast while waiting for the Pilot, a hurricane is expected to hit Chiba on the 15th or 16th so we need to be as heavy as possible and we were ready just by the time our Pilot boarded us at 10:20. Checking the departure draft and we had to do if from deck as the gangway was gone so we could not go ashore. Well, will be nice to get back to Singapore now.  Checking the departure draft
We had 2 Pilots on board, one that get us from the jetty and one to take us out of Tokyo Bay. They looked like tourists just like the Pilots we had at arrival. Sunglasses, some sun hat, sport jacket,  white shoes and binoculars around their neck.
I came on the bridge quarter to 11 and the crew was stand-by forward and aft. We made fast a tug boat on Port quarter and we were ready to leave Chiba, Japan for Singapore OPL. Sunday and beautiful weather, a wee bit windy but it was still very comfortable to wear shorts and shirt. The fishing jetty in front of us were full of people  fishing. I took a picture through the  binoculars. I was a little surprised that they were fishing around here. Looks like the whole Tokyo Bay is full of factories and refineries and I had expected the water to be very polluted.
Well, I guess it is here like in the rest of the civilized world, they have cleaned up their act. Like in West Europe, some places that were considered dead back in the 70's and 80's are now full of life and swimming are now allowed. Of course, this is not helping very much as all these factories are now in China and  places like that and they are killing  everything around the places just dumping the shit in the water and in to the environment.
You are set to open up a factory and you have to choose between China and Europe. And you are carefully considering  the cost before you set up your production. And the choice seems quite simple. Most companies don't care much for the environment or the employees working in the factories. As cheap as possible....

Monday 14th of October 2013 and we had retarded ship's time by an hour during the night so I was kind of OK when my alarm went of at 7 twenty. I had my tea and I stepped in to my office 1  minute before 8 o'clock and the crew was waiting.
- Ass holes and Motherfoockers! - GOOD MORNING BOSS! We started the “Good morning PEP” meeting with a serious matter, my diet. I'm about to blow myself out of proportion and I handed my diet bet contract to our Pump Man. He had never seen something like this before and he just gaped at me like I was crazy.  - 1000$!!?? Every time you eat!!??
- Right on, but you have to catch me! We went through the deal and it looked like the crew was going to pack their bags and call a  helicopter to pick them up when we pass the Philippines. They were sure that this bet would turn them all to millionaires. They were turning cartwheels around my office screaming of joy.  Yes, they wouldn't mind going home.
- HOLD IT RIGHT THERE BUDDY BOYS!!! YOU HAVE TO CATCH ME!!! It was rolling a wee bit due to the hurricane, or Typhoon as they call it in this part of the world.  But one of the ABs were to open all steam traps on the steam pipes to clean them. Pump Man, our Cadet and one of the ABs were going to remove and change the bolts on a manifold valve.
Remaining crew will be busy with the chipping machines. We had sorted out today's job on deck and the crew started to line up for the good morning “PEP” group spanking. Even though I could see that they had been missing our spanking routines while discharging in Chiba, Japan I stopped them. One of the ABs had been a wee bit naughty so he had to bend over and the crew took turns.  Good morning “PEP” group spanking

Well, just for the sake of it, we had a group hug before the guys left for deck to start the work. I was pretty pleased, finally, my diet bet in effect and these guys will for sure keep an eye out  trying to catch me eating and I will sign off with a V-shaped torso.
I measured our safety net for the accommodation ladder. New TC for SHELL and they have some special requirements at Gore Bay in Sydney. So I hope we come to Sydney and I can buy my camera and computer. We remember when in Gore Bay with Maersk Claudia. Very close to the city of Sydney and it is impossible to forget the whale watching adventure. Time was quick and it was soon time for coffee break and my diet bet draws quite some attention during the coffee break. Actually, there was quite a commotion when I arrived to the duty mess and some of them started to demand money from me even though I hadn't been eating anything. MY DIET BET

The work with the steam traps went along very fine and they had managed to remove and change  one bolt in the manifold valve when it was time for lunch. The work is proceeding but we expect it to take a very long time to change all the bolts.
It will hopefully be ready before we reach Singapore.
Lunch, I had some meat and salad. 2 slices of our Cook's homemade black bread and I felt very good when I left the table for 30 minutes of  constitutional around the super structure. I don't want to ay that I was flying around the superstructure, but it felt like it. If I can only keep up like this until I sign off  and I will be good.
The work with the manifold valve continued during the afternoon and they were soon having changed 3 bolts on the manifold. Now there is only a million of them to go and they are ready. They had changed 4 bolts and the fifth bolt was lose when we gave up for today, we had retarded ship's time during the night and it was getting dark at 5 o'clock. So I asked the guys to secure the tools for the night and we will continue tomorrow morning. Weather permitted, but we're hopefully dodging the effects of the hurricane.  2 Cadets hanging over the rail like only 2 Cadets know how to do
It was pitch dark when I had my evening constitutional but I wanted to complete the darn thing  so I would get some exercise. Pushups  are out of the question with my right arm. But I can start with  sit ups, maybe tomorrow.
Dinner, fish and salad and 2 slices of black bread and I was hungry by the time we started the “after dinner” movie. And it started to roll during the movie but nothing had felt to the floor when I was back in my cabin. But I decided to skip the Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai. A episode of Seinfeld and I was off to bed. By  then it was rolling slightly more and the chair was moving back and forth so I spent most of the time holding on to my desk.
Plenty to do on deck and I really hope we can have the guys on deck working tomorrow without risking them to fall over board. +++++++++++++++
Tuesday 15th of October 2013 and the ship was rolling all night long and it was impossible to sleep. I turned off my alarm when it went off at 7 twenty, not that it was easy to find the darn alarm clock. The rolling had cleared my table and I had to look for the clock before I could turn off the  alarm. To drink the lemon flavored magnesium “FIZZ” drink was a struggle in the rolling. Well, not any problem to drink but to mix the drink and then to sit down enjoying the FIZZ drink.
Breakfast was not a nice experience, 2 slices of black bread while trying to hold on to myself and a glass of tea at the same time. And there were not many people at the “Good morning PEP” meeting and we would have to stay inside during the day. We don't want anyone to blow off the ship. We had our group hug and the guys were off to make covers for our mooring ropes. They can sit in the Suez Cabin while doing the canvas  covers. Pump Man and our Cadet were securing some drums in the rope store and our extra Painters were in the engine room helping the Engineers.
And yes, I was disappointed, I had expected us, well, at least I had been hoping for some action with our manifold valve and the steam traps. Well, there is nothing to do about it. I can spend the day at my desk reviewing our SMPEP manual and we can get some of our covers ready. We are south bound approaching the island Tanega Shima leaving the  Japanese mainland behind while the hurricane is  roaring North towards Tokyo East of the island Tanega Shima.
We were rolling heavily on our way towards Tanega Shima and there wasn't much else to do but to sit down hold on to something. We were in lee of the island Tanega Shima just before 1 o'clock and we went on deck to put an extra lashing on the pilot ladder on starboard side. And it was very nice to come out in the air on deck, and it was even nicer that the rolling had stopped. I actually had time for a constitutional on deck, I gave up after a while. Walking up on starboard side and the wind was very strong, but walking down on Port side was very nice.

My diet bet has turned out to be nothing less than an instant success. I feel like a million and on top of that, no agony for over eating. We had a Mark Walenberg evening last Sunday. We started with 2 guns and we finished the festivities with Ted. Mark Walenberg, I can't remember even having seen him in any bad movie. So we will continue the Mark Walenberg festival tonight at 8 o'clock and that gives me time to Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai videos before we kick off the Mark Walenberg evening. +++++++++++++++
Wednesday 16th of October 2013 and I was awake when my alarm went off at 7 twenty. I think I had been close to falling out of bed 5 or 6 times during the night, so still heavy rolling. Actually, it is worse today than yesterday. I started by trying to get all the stuff off the floor. Drawers, well, everything was on the floor. I had my lemon flavored magnesium “FIZZ” drink with my vitamins before I went for my shower. And as it was rolling too much I skipped breakfast
No people in my office at 8 o'clock, they were in the gym lashing the equipments and when  they were ready I brought Pump Man and our Cadet to my office to secure the computer. And when they are ready they will go to my cabin to secure everything there.
The computer in my office is mounted on the bulkhead, but it had not been secured so it was on the floor when I came to my office this morning. Same in my cabin, at the first rolling the other day my tables were clear from DVD players, loud speakers, monitors, printer/ copy machine ( most likely beyond repair) and most of the other stuff was on the floor. Strange, coming on board a 8 year old ship  and nothing is secured.
I could hardly get out from my bed room this morning, all the furniture, drawers was in the door way between the living room and the bed room. Well, we will soon have my  cabin to Swedish standard, at least when it comes to securing the stuff.
I have my best guys on the job and as soon as the computer in my office is secured they will get on to my cabin. There are not one single strong point in my cabin to secure  furniture to so they had do bring a roll of BANDIT and a drilling machine.
They cut all the BANDIT required but it is made out of stainless steel so  they needed to go to the work shop in the engine room to drill the holes. When they were back they had time for the chairs and paper bins before it was time for lunch.
There are TV and DVD in my cabin but if I watch a movie  I do it with the Cadets in the TV room. But the chairs in the TV room leaves a lot to wish for so when it was time to go for lunch I asked the Cadet to take down one of my leather chairs to the TV room.
And I'm sure they will be green of envy tonight when we continue our Mark Walenberg week. The cadets are sitting  for 5 minutes and then they have to lie down on the floor for a while and then back to the chair. A walk around and back to the chair, so yes, the  chairs are very uncomfortable. But I will sit like a king watching Mark Walenberg tonight.
Our Cadet took the chair, remember my right arm?  My right arm is not for much use, but I could carry the foot rest. I'm already looking forward to our after dinner movie. The finished my cabin after lunch and I went to my office to complete our “Minimize Oil Spill Campaign 2013” questionnaire in my office.
The wind was decreasing and I went to the kitchen to pick up a banana to enjoy on deck. I was  hungry, not really been eating today due to the rolling. As soon as I stepped out on deck 3 of our pigeons came running towards me. They have been on board since we left Singapore last time.
I peeled my banana and they looked at me like a dog at a dinner table. So they are hungry, of course, a few days with  bad weather and nothing to eat so of course they were hungry.
I went in to get a fistful of uncooked rice and they had soon eating all of the rice. I went for a second fist and when I was back the fourth pigeon came around  the corner. I caught sight of the other pigeons and the rice. He started to run towards us and it looked real funny  when she bursted down the deck towards us. Yes, they were really hungry.
It was nice outside, yes I was in the lee, but the wind have decreased and I was sitting on the bench munching on my bananas watching the pigeons while enjoying the weather. I went to our Suez cabin when I had finished my bananas. The crew is still inside, 2 lost days on deck thanks’ to the hurricanes. They are making the canvas for the mooring winches and they are soon ready. We only miss the ropes and we will hopefully get them in Singapore. One thing is for sure, time is very slow staying inside trying to kill time in the bad weather. But I hope we can get on deck tomorrow to continue with the manifold valve and the steam traps. We don't have the time for bad weather and we have plenty to chip and paint.

Our Mark Walenberg “SPECIAL” will continue at 8 o'clock so I had time to Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai videos in my cabin after the dinner. I read one of my books yesterday, today I might do 2 books but I'm tired after 2 days of no sleeping. +++++++++++++++
Thursday 17th of October 2013 and our Cadet was in front of the computer when I stepped in to my office for our “Good morning PEP” meeting. Our Mark Walenberg week had turned out to be a  success so far so our Cadet was looking for another Mark Walenberg movie for us tonight. He searched our movie list and he had found one movie we had not seen.
 - YO! I FOUND A MARK WALENBERG MOVIE FOR TONIGHT!
- That's the spirit! The weather had improved and I sent the guys on deck to continue the work we had not been able to do during the bad weather. We had land on our port side in the afternoon but I don't know if it was Okinawa or the Philippines. I managed to get 2 constitutionals during the day and I was enjoying the sun set during my last  constitutional. I was in a good mood, my diet is proceeding far better than expected. Fruits in the afternoon otherwise nothing except the salad and meat, of course the black bread, but only with cheese for breakfast.

So we were not as far as I thought. I returned to the Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai videos and Seinfeld and I killed time until 8 o'clock when it was time for the after dinner movie. AND NOT MARK WALENBERG. Some “Brustomte” had watched the movie without returning the DVD. So we had to pick something else. How foocking hard can it be to return the DVD? +++++++++++++++
Friday 18th of October 2013 and we had a management meeting after the 10 o'clock coffee break. And we had a meeting after lunch regarding our oil spill campaign so before I knew it we had put  more than half of the day behind us.
We have just kicked of an Oil Spill Prevention campaign and we split up in 4 teams and we will do these tasks tomorrow. Not too long as we have plenty to do on deck. Our 2nd Officer was on the bridge and he was assigned to my team in his absense. So far no name of our teams, but when I told them that my team was the “KICK ARSE” team th others started to come up with names. Of course, nothing as good as “KICK ARSE” Not even close. Our weather is getting better and we entered Luzon Strait in the afternoon, Taiwan on our Starboard side and the Philippines on our Port side. I had discharged 4000 tons of ballast  during the morning so I was busy filling up logs and stuff in  my office after the meeting. Yes, there is always a little something to do on a ship.
2 of my TOP GUNS had spun off the mooring ropes from the winches while I had the power pack for the ballast pumps. We have to inspect the ropes every 3 months so I checked our ropes and I discovered 2 ropes that needed to be cut off by approx 10 meters. Our OS and one of the ABs got on with the job to splice new eyes on the ropes when the ropes were back on the winches. I could  stop the power packs and there was more  logs and paper work to be filled up.
But it had been a good day and I was in a good mood when it was time for dinner. 2 constitutionals and I had got contact with Wrist.
100 cans of snus on the way and they’re looking for a new lap top for me. They asked what kind of lap top I wanted. And I sent them a simple answer: Anything except SONY and HP, a high performer with a 17 to 20 inch screen. So now I just wait for their answer delirious with anticipation. And I hope they can come up with something, but the last time I bought a lap top it was very hard to find a 20 inch screen. +++++++++++++++
Saturday 19th of October 2013 and our Cadet started the day with some studies. I handed him our “Petroleum Measurements Tables” and he had to find out different volumes at different  temperatures. And with the help from the tables only, no help from the cargo computer.
Our Cadet was working on convert 40,000MT Density 0.88@15°C in vacuum in to volume at different temperatures and the crew were on deck chipping and painting. We have stopped the work with the manifold valve and Pump Man is changing steam valves on deck. All steam traps are cleaned and the work proceeds quite OK. When our Cadet was ready with task #1 he had to convert 20,000m³ at different temperatures in to ton. 
Time turned very quick and it was soon time for the coffee break and I had some chocolate cookies and it didn't take long before people started to demand money
- 1000$ - It is Saturday! Read the deal! It's on the wall! - Nice try by the way! We're in the middle of a hectic Oil Spill Prevention Campaign and my team, the “A-kickers” met in my office after the coffee break. We studied the  case and we discussed the questions in the questionnaire. Filling up the answers and we had killed an hour when we were ready. And as all this took place in my office we had to kick out the Cadet. He is in another team and he could not use   my office to study. So he spent the time securing all the equipments there.
And it is about time, it had not been secured for 8 years and now we decided to bolt everything to the deck. Our Cadet drilled holes through the deck and  holes through the frames on the equipment. He bolted everything to the deck and now it should take a lot to get the training stuff to come loose.
And there are a lot of different equipments. Bicycle, treadmills, rowing machine and 2 of the “ALL  IN ONE” machines. And of course, dumbbells and barbells with a lot of weights. Easy to  imagine these weights and the damage they can do rolling around in the gym during bad weather.
We met in my office after the coffee break in the afternoon for the oil spill drill and the closing  meeting on the October part of the oil spill campaign would be held on the bridge after the drill. It was time for dinner when we were ready and the crew was just about to leave the bridge when I asked them to stay for a group picture.

Sunday 20th of October 2013 and I didn't woke up until 10 o'clock. A gorgeous day and I found  the Cadets in the pool enjoying the sunshine.
I turned on the steam to our residual tank after lunch, we're going to discharge our slop in Singapore before SHELL takes over the ship and we need to have some heat on to be able to discharge the slop. And when the steam was on I went to the TV room to watch our Sunday afternoon movie.
A few episodes of Seinfeld in the afternoon and I sent names of 2 laptops with 17,3inch screens to Wrist in Singapore. I could only find 2 laptops with 17,3 inch screens on the internet, SAMSUNG and ASUS. +++++++++++++++
Monday 21st of October 2013 and my alarm went off at 7 twenty and I swung myself out of bed. A new week and I had several things to look forward to. The work with the steam valves, chipping   and painting and other important maintenance as on our fixed gas detecting equipment. For sure, an exciting day ahead of us.
So I was looking forward to our “Good morning PEP” meeting. But first my lemon flavoured magnesium “FIZZ” drink and vitamins, and of course, a hot shower. I was down in the mess room and 2 slices of black bread with cheese later I stepped in to my office.
I sent the guys on deck and as our Pump Man and one of the ABs had to do some work in our provision crane aft I had to do a work permit. Pump Man and our Cadet started the day with some  additional lashing in my office.
2 garbage bins that will hopefully never come on the loose again. Yeah, by the time after 8 years. Our 2nd Engineer has inspected my cabin and he wanted  to have his furniture lashed as well. So I will send our Pump Man to his cabin to secure his furniture tomorrow morning.
Lashing in my office and work permit and it was 9 o'clock before we could start with the gas detection equipment and we started with the ballast tank detector. We calibrated the HC sensor to 0% LEL and 50% LEL and it was time for the 10 o'clock coffee break when we were ready. And the coffee break, I have not had any Milo since my bet came in to effect and I miss it, but I feels a lot better without the darn Milo.  2nd Engineer and Motorman working with the deck crane

 After the coffee break it was time for the oxygen detector on our vapour return system. The sensor is just aft of our deck crane where 2nd Engineer and our Motorman was busy changing oil or whatever they did. But it was an important work. We purged the sample lines, we calibrated the sensor and we did some minor repairs. And it  worked very well when we tested the equipment. And by now it was past lunch time so we went for lunch when we were ready.
Our 2nd Officer went for some rest after lunch and our Cadet went to secure the last equipments in the gym. I did some paper work when our 2nd Engineer came to ask for help. He needed an AB to help him in the crane. - No worries, I give you our best guy I had our AB and 2nd Engineer to promise me not to tell anyone that I had said that he was the best AB. I had done some “important” paper work during my lunch break and I had missed my constitutional. But now I had 30 spare minutes at hand and I got a kick arse constitutional around the super structure.
We selected 3 DVDs after dinner and we will decide which one to see when we meet at 8 o'clock. Our home theatre system is confirmed for Singapore. And I got an e-mail from Wrist and they will get me a quotation for the camera and laptop later on today so something to look forward to. I watched a few Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai videos, OK, I threw in a Seinfeld episode between the exciting Thai videos and I was in the TV room at 8 o'clock. +++++++++++++++
Tuesday 22nd of October 2013 and I swung myself out of bed at 07:20. A quick lemon flavoured magnesium “FIZZ” drink with my vitamins. 2 coffin nails and I were off to the shower. 2  slices of black bread and cheese with my tea and I stepped in to my office at 8 o'clock.
- Ass holes and Motherfoockers! - GOOD MORNING BOSS! The crew continued chipping and painting and our Pump Man went  to secure the furniture in our 2nd Engineer's cabin. When he was ready he continued to overhaul steam valves.
We had 5 new valves that he changed for leaking ones on the steam line. Now he is overhauling the valves and then he will  replace 5 other leaking valves. The work is proceeding quite nicely on deck and I was in a good mood.
Our 2nd Officer, Cadet and I were going to calibrate one of the hydrocarbon detectors in the pump room. We made a entry permit and risk assessment and we went down the pump room.  We had brought a bottle with 50% LEL test gas and a multi meter. Clean air and we adjusted the sensor to 40mV and at 50% LEL we adjusted the sensor to 120mV.
The annoying “SENSOR FAILURE” alarm was gone when we returned to the CCR and we were all in a very good mood. 1 hour to lunch and our Cadet asked what to do. I have hundreds of new SHELL documents to read so I have enough to keep myself busy. But the Cadet, hmm... What is there for him to do? I had prepared 3 different cargo grades for him in the loading computer. I had come up with some training tasks for him the other day.
- Do you have a pen and paper? I was surprised when he brought out a notebook and a pen from his pocket. We were on deck with the gas detector yesterday and I asked if he had pen and paper. He had to borrow paper from our 2nd Officer, but he had a pen. And I told him:  - ALWAYS CARRY A NOTE BOOK AND PEN IF CHIEF OFFICER SAY SOMETHING CLEVER!
I asked if he wanted to become a Chief Officer. - YES!!! YES!!!
- SO SHAPE UP!!
And the first note he took was Chief Officer's first rule:  OBSERVE - ANALYSE - REACT (TAKE ACTION) WITHIN A FRACTION OF A SECOND
Well, I gave him 3 parcels of cargo with different temperatures and I asked him for a cargo plan.  And of course he had to find out how many % 98% @ 15°C was at 43°C I read SHELL instructions while he was busy with the cargo calculations.
We had soon put yet another morning behind us and I was in a good mood going for my lunch. The annoying “SENSOR FAILURE” alarm was gone and as of now it doesn’t look like we will have to order a new sensor. Lunch was some kind of Swedish kåldolme, or as they say in Turkey: Dolma. IT was so good so I asked our Cook to save the leftovers for me so I could have them for dinner. Well, anyway, it was time for my  constitutional and I was just to leave the table. Our Mess man came in with a plate of buns.They looked like perfect buns for Semlor  and when Mess man told Captain that they were stuffed with meat I got what must have been  the IDEA of the century. At least one of them.
I rose from my chair and I told Mess man to follow me and we dashed off to see our Cadets in the duty mess. I showed them the buns and I told them that this was the perfect bun for a Semla. - Well, just make them a wee bit bigger! I told our deck Cadet that he could do Semlor on Saturday. They suggested Sunday as they had their day of and had more time to spend in the kitchen. Well, they have obviously  forgotten about my diet bet and Saturday it was. They started to plan for the event and our EX professional Cook wrote down the bun recipe for our non EX professional Cook. And of course,  I was scrutinizing his recipe and I gave him a few inputs. To make Semlor is a serious thing and guesses and hunches is nothing we want in the kitchen when making Semlor. So I needed to make it was going to be OK. When I was sure they got it all right I went out for my constitutional on deck. I was back in my office after 30 minutes of POWER walk and I felt like a million. Most likely because I was looking forward to Semlor on Saturday.
Our Pump Man is busy in the work shop overhauling steam valves and we postponed the planned pressure test of a cargo valve until after the coffee break at 3 o'clock. I had got confirmation from Wrist in Singapore, I had chosen a Toshiba Qosmio X70. I wanted a SAMSUNG or ASUS but they only had the Toshiba Qosmio X70 or a MSI something. - What the is a MSI, never heard off.
It was hard to find a laptop with a bigger than 17,3 inch screen, but the Toshiba Qosmio X70 should be good according to the information I found on the internet. 3100 US for the computer and a  Canon IXIUS plus of course 100 cans of snus.
I sent Wrist an e-mail confirming that I wanted the stuff and I decided to take a chance to get a tea mug. I was
And yes, we have got 2 home theatre set confirmed from Wrist. 3D sound and I don't know  everything. So we will try to save the helicopter and shooting movies until after Sunday and we will stick with the boring BLAH-BLAH-BLA movies until we have the home cinema system on board. And hmm, wonder how it would be to time to Learn Thai with Mod and the Alif Silpachai videos on the home cinema system.
