29th of November 2018 and we left Radisson Blu Dubai Waterfront and I was sitting in the back of the hotel taxi. Didn't take long before I had a sense that something was wrong.
- Where are you going?
My driver was on the way in the opposite direction and I had him to turn around. So it was quite late by the time I arrived to Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. I walked down the hide and I discovered that it was hide #1 “Mangrove Hide”

I come in to the hide and it is a nice hide. There was a man working there and he asked me to sign the guest book. There were windows that could be opened and stools so I took a seat and I spotted a Great Egret fishing next to the hide.
There was also a Grey Heron on the other side of the water. I was soon spotting a Western Reef Heron (White morph) coming very close to the hide.

I had have a gorgeous afternoon at the Mangrove hide, hide #1 at the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. I was told that there was another hide about 1 km away. So I left and I started to walk towards hide #2, the Flamingo hide.
I leave the hide and I run in to a bunch of White-eared Bulbuls in a bush. I try to make a recording but the noise from the highway is too high

I continue walking towards the next hide and I´m soon realizing that it is much longer than 1 km to the next hide, and I was not happy. I left hide #1 around 4 o'clock and I expect to be in the next hide in a jiff. At 5 o'clock it is getting too dark for any pictures.
I'm trotting on and on and my mood are swinging to worse for every step I take towards the hide. I realise that there will be no tie to take many pictures by the time I arrive to the hide as there is no sign of the next hide.

Finally, I can see the next hide

Reaching the Flamingo Hide and it was already getting dusky and I knew that there would not be many pictures taken. Never mind, it was only flamingos here. Well, I spotted a snip and a Whimbrel. And the Grey Francolin that I had been chasing in Oman.
Too dark for any good pictures so the bird won't make it to my list of observed birds. I spend about 30 minutes at the hide before I book a UBER and I go out to the road to wait for the car.

Back at my room and I spent the night looking at my pictures and I was in bed at 9 o'clock with my alarm to set off at 3 thirty. And I have a standing back-up call from the reception at 04:15. They will call me every morning at 04:15 as I had requested when I checked in.
My Guide will come to pick me up at 6 thirty tomorrow morning. So we will go look for birds and you can click HERE to find out if we see any birds.
OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.
